Wat Chaiwatthanaram, Ayutthaya, Thailand.

WPI was a consultant to WMF on flood protection issues for Wat Chaiwatthanaram, a 17th Century Buddhist Temple in Ayutthaya, Thailand, an historic city, which was the second capital of Siam. WMF is working closely with the Thai Department of Fine Arts and the United States Embassy in Thailand on this project, which officially started in 2012. The site was severely flooded in 2011, when a record monsoon caused extensive flooding on the Chao Phraya River. WPI assisted with engineering of a floodwall to improve flood protection for this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
