Aqueduct Research.

WPI has been investigating above-ground remnants, tunnels, and other artifacts that shed light on the engineering of the Roman water supply system. Studies have addressed spring water sources and yields; the route and gradients of the Serino aqueduct; design and construction of an early Roman aqueduct that preceded the Serino aqueduct; and the design and construction of the Augusta Aqueduct; along with numerous water storage facilities build by the Roman in and around Naples Bay. The research has led to a big-picture understanding of Roman water resources management and design and construction skills.
